ELLE DECOR Editor in Chief Michael Boodro joined Exquisite Surfaces owners Frank, Paula, and Alexis Nataf for a Night of Exquisite Tastes at the opening of Exquisite Surfaces' flagship New York showroom in SoHo. Over 150+ interior designers and VIP guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres inspired by the regions from which the surfaces are sourced - Morocco, Belgium, and France.
ELLE DECOR and Fendi Casa partnered to host the November Luxury Issue party at the Luxury Living Showroom on Madison Avenue in New York. Editor in Chief Michael Boodro and Vice President and Creative Director Ally Coulter, Fendi Casa, were joined by 200+ top designers and industry VIP guests with music by DJ Chelsea Leyland and special artwork by artist Robert Farber.
The Hearst Design Group rang in the holidays with this very special Annual event to benefit the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club in the Baker Showroom at the New York Design Center. Top designers were invited to create custom holiday wreaths, that were then auctioned off during the evening to benefit the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club. The highlight of the evening was a performance by the children of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club chorus.
Edenton, NC – Five interior designers received top honors in the Sustainable Furnishings Council’s inaugural #GetYourGreenOn competition, which was fêted Oct. 21 in conjunction with the SFC’s 10th Anniversary Celebration at High Point Market.
GRAND PRIZE WINNER: Paola McDonald of Olamar Interiors, Haymarket, VA, took the top honor, the 2016 Sustainable Design Excellence Award, for her Washington D.C. row house. The upbeat, colorful residence featured product from SFC members (a requirement of the #GetYourGreenOn competition), specifically Jaipur Living, Jeffan International, Phillips Collection and Surya.
SHARED SPACES $30,000 & ABOVE AWARD: Sheree Vincent of Fusion Designed, Minneapolis, was named winner of the 2016 Shared Spaces $30,000 & Above Award. Her winning lake home featured SFC member products from Kravet and Lee Industries, as well as mindful design choices such as in-floor radiant heating, energy-efficient windows, low-VOC paints and wall finishes, and Energy Star- rated appliances.
2016 SHARED SPACES $30,000 $ UNDER AWARD: Robin Wilson of Robin Wilson Home, New York, earned the 2016 Shared Spaces $30,000 & Under Award. In addition to featuring product from SFC member Somerton Dwelling, Wilson's dining room featured no-VOC paints and stains from Benjamin Moore.
2016 OUTDOOR SPACES $30,000 & ABOVE AWARD: The 2016 Outdoor Spaces $30,000 & Above Award went to Dann Foley, Dann Inc., Palm Springs, CA, for his restoration of a historic home's front entry and double piazzas. Area rugs from SFC member Loloi Rugs and benches from SFC member Safavieh were featured in the winning project.
SHARED SPACES &30,000 & UNDER FINALIST: Rachel Winokur of Rachel Winokur Interiors, Los Angeles, was named a 2016 finalist in the Shared Spaces $30,000 & Under category. Her update of a client's Spanish Mediterranean-style residence featured a sectional from SFC member Cisco Brother.
SHARED SPACES $30,000 & ABOVE FINALIST: Dann Foley, Dann Inc., Palm Springs, CA, earned a second distinction in this year's competition: 2016 finalist in the Shared Spaces $30,000 & Above category. For this country club residence update, Foley choose products from SFC member Nathan Anthony, Kravet and Loloi Rugs.

HIGH POINT, NC — WithIt presented its 2016 WOW Awards during a dinner and reception event on Friday, April 15 in High Point. The annual WOW Awards honor the achievements of home and furnishings professionals and businesses that embody the organization's mission.
WithIt’s WOW Awards is the only industry-wide program dedicated to the specific accomplishments of women and the companies that support women in home and furnishings industries. Honorees recognized at the event were:

Connie Post of Connie Post Affordable Design Solutions was presented the Legacy Award, celebrating Post’s lifetime contributions to WithIt and the home and furnishings industry.

Renee Loper-Boyd of International Market Centers was presented the Mentoring Award for her efforts to foster mentoring, development and promotion of women in her company and the industry.

Stephanie Lena of Somerton Dwelling was awarded the Future Leader Award, which is bestowed upon a young woman who has demonstrated outstanding achievement and the potential to become an industry leader.
The 2016 WOW Awards were made possible through the generous support of International Market Centers. The awards were presented during a gala event with record attendance in IHFC’s International Ballroom, which had been transformed into a spring garden theme led by renowned interior designer Gary Inman. Students from High Point University and the North Carolina State College of Textiles assisted with decorating and attended the dinner.
WithIt was formed in 1997 for women in the home and furnishings industries in order to support their multi-dimensional career paths. The non-profit network is based in North Carolina and supported by leading companies across the industry including their platinum sponsors International Market Centers and Heritage Home Group. WithIt’s purpose is to encourage and develop leadership, mentoring, education and networking opportunities for professional women in the home and furnishings industries.
On March 31, The Hearst Design Group partnered with Miele for an event in their Coral Gables showroom. Miami based top interior designer Wade Hallock of Hallock Design Group led guests through an insightful and informative roving presentation around the showroom which highlighted how incorporating intuitive appliances into your kitchen design can help create the perfect entertaining setting.
